Sentier géologique illustré de nombreuses photos d'affleurements des roches océaniques

La randonnée se fait en une journée en partant à pied de Montgenèvre.

La marche d'approche est de 30mn seulement. 2 circuits sont possibles:
 - le plus court: circuit Montgenèvre-Montgenèvre, via le col du Souréou et le Collet Vert/Cole Verde.
 - le plus long : circuit Montgenèvre-Clavière, via le col du Souréou, le Collet Vert, Roc La Luna et le refuge Pian Gimont; retour en navette entre Clavière et Montgenèvre.

Ce sentier permet de découvrir progressivement des volcans basaltiques sous-marins, des corps de gabbros et le manteau océanique constituant l'ophiolite du Chenaillet. Les affleurements présentés sur les photos sont accompagnés d'une légende désignant l'essentiel à observer.

Un surlignage des principaux objets et une légende détaillée pour toutes les photos sont en cours de réalisation. Ces « calques » seront mis en ligne progressivement. Merci de votre patience.

New geological trail with numerous outcrop photos of the oceanic rocks

The walk starting from Montgenèvre takes only one day . It takes 30 mn to be on the outcrops.

2 possible circuits:
- the shorter: circuit Montgenèvre-Montgenèvre, via the col du Souréou and the Collet Vert.
- the longer: circuit Montgenèvre-Clavière, via col du Souréou, Collet Vert/Cole Verde, Roc La Luna and refuge Pian Gimont; return by shuttle between Clavière and Montgenèvre.

This track enables to progressively discover basaltic sub-marine volcanoes, gabbro bodies, and oceanic mantle which form the Chenaillet Ophiolite. The outcrops on the photos are associated with captions pointing out the essential to observe
